I think it was in about 2010, that I got a phone call from a guy in Chillicothe, Ohio who said he had two "Black Old Hondas" one was a three hundred the other a 450 that he wanted to get rid of. This was long before the days when you could expect everyone to have a cell phone and could send you pictures. He quoted me a ball park figure he was looking to get. It was so low that I was pretty sure I could part them out and do ok. Chillicothe is not close,about 60 miles south, so I took a chance and drove down there.
When I got there, I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a near perfect 1967 CB450K0 Black Bomber and an equally good looking 1960's CA77 305 Dream both in gleaming black. These bikes started quickly on their electric start buttons and were at least 9's on a 10 scale-Better yet, they had valid Ohio titles! . The seller was an "elderly gentleman"(Ha Ha, currentliy I am certainly much older than he was back then) I paid such a low price for them, that I am embarassed to put it in print! He was happy and I was starting to count up their value before I got home.
I put them on my website and quickly got an inquiry from Los Angeles about the the CB450K0. He paid my price plus shipping and it was off. When it arrived he called and said that he was thrilled to get it. The CA77 only took less than a month and it was sold here in Ohio. Oh boy that kind of deal just isn't out there today.
